QUETTA, Sep 03 (Online): At least 73 persons have been killed and more than 160 others injured in a suicide blast at Mezan Chowk during a rally of 'Youm-ul-Quds' organized by Imamia Students Organisation (ISO) here on Friday.
According to details ISO headed a rally from Mezan Chowk to mark 'Youm-ul-Quds' when the rally that was participated by approximately 2,000 to 2,500 people reached near Mezan chowka suicide blast occurred with a massive bang. |

US drone strikes kill 10 in Pakistan
MIRAMSHAH, Sep 3: Two US drone strikes on Friday killed at least ten militants, including some foreign fighters, in Pakistan's northwestern tribal belt near the Afghan border, security officials said.
Both strikes hit North Waziristan district, a renowned hub for Taliban and Al-Qaeda-linked militants.

WB boosts Pakistan flood support to $1 bln
ISLAMABAD, Sep 03: The World Bank has increased funding to help Pakistan cope with catastrophic flooding by $100 million, to a total of $1 billion, the bank said in a statement on Wednesday.
"The World Bank is committed to helping the people of Pakistan during this time of need and has made US$1 billion available to finance immediate recovery needs and longer-term reconstruction," the statement quoted World Bank President Robert Zoellick as telling Pakistani Finance Minister Hafeez Shaikh in Washington.

My name is Mohammed Tufail Uppal. I was born in a town- Raja Sansi India on December 20th 1921. This town is located about eleven kilometers north-west from the city of Amritsar on Ajnala road. While I approach towards the 90th year of my life I like to narrate my firsthand experience about partition of India.
Our family lived for over a century in Raja Sansi. My ancestors named Kishan Lal and Bishan Lal moved from Rajisthan to Raja Sansi Punjab in 1798. |
Floods, apathy and lawlessness

I visited Pakistan amongst sheer crisis of floods. Water less or more create havoc in subcontinent and this year floods broke all records and millions are displaced, thousands have flown in the water and it is a setback for dwindling economy of Pakistan which relies mainly on crops. However, the relief efforts are slow and due to lack of resources less purposeful. |
